Here, in the idyllic mountain village of Scharnitz, the Tyrol is still the same as it used to be. This region has remained untouched by mass tourism. The landscape is still largely unspoiled and you can vividly and authentically discover and experience the fascination by the majestic mountain world of the Karwendel range. The western Karwendel including the village of Scharnitz has been coined by the river Isar with its source close to the Kastenalm Alpine hut.
Unforgettable experiences of nature include the romantic Ferchensee lake, the mighty rocks of the Laliderer Walls, the Mittenwalder Höhenweg Alpine path, the sources of Isar and the Gleirschklamm gorge of Karwendel.
Scharnitz is the ideal point of departure for plenty of day trips and almost all kinds of sports are possible in this magnificent region.
